Javier Cuenca
Originally from Valencia, in eastern Spain, Javier attended the Polytechnic University of Valencia between 2002 and 2009. He received his Diploma of Architect (equivalent to a Master’s in the US) in October of 2009 with his final project for a Museum of Contemporary Art. The project explored the enhancement of neighborhoods through architecture and the relationship of varying scales within this context. Concurrent with his studies, explored other subjects related to the arts and graphic design in the College of Fine Arts such as rendering technique, typography and photography.
In 2011 he received a grant from his College to work in the architecture firm Carpaneto.Schoeningh architekten in Berlin for six months. During his tenure, he worked on several projects in the city including the “Spreefield” project, a self-contained residential neighborhood.
In February 2012, Javier joined to CDR Studio to complete a year long trainee programme. He is involved in Helsinki Public Library competition, as well as contributing to numerous other projects currently under development.
