The Governor's Cup Pavilion is Dismantled

After a successful presence on Governors Island this summer, the Governor's Cup Pavilion has finally been taken down. CDR Studio worked to carefully dismantle the Pavilion in a series of pieces; they are currently in storage as we research its next possible site.  view full article

The Pavilion was the winning submission for the City of Dreams Pavilion design competition, and was on display on Governors Island for the duration of the 2014 summer. CDR Studio was able to bring together a robust design team, a troop of 100+ volunteers, and numerous other support to help them bring their vision to reality. The result of this far-reaching team work was an innovative pavilion located in one of New York’s most unique public spaces. Governor’s Cup formed a place for gathering, interaction, and performance. It was a playground for kids and adults.

The Pavilion will be on display at Governors Island until the end of the season. You can read the articles here, here and here.
